Land-Rover Series Club

Between 27th and 29th April 2012, the Krivoklat area was the setting for the second installment of LRSC's club competition testing the participants navigational and knowledge skills. Compared to the first event in 2011, the event has matured organizational-wise and the route has grown by a few great stretches of local greenlanes.

On 27th April 2012, the event was symbolically started by a number of club members laying flowers at the memorial to Zdenek Kothera, a Czechoslovak RAF pilot killed during the Second World War. This was to commemorate not only the sad anniversary of 70 years to the day since he was shot down over the Netherlands in 1942, but also the courage of thousands other Czechoslovaks, who fought for the liberation of their country during WWII.

On Saturday, the day of the actual competition, the weather turned out great and the event was blessed with nearly summer temperatures. The route took us along roads and greenlanes with some great scenery and the tasks as well as the itinerary brought the participants several ours of entertainment and a few interesting facts. Same as last year, lots of prizes were prepared for all participants and noone has left the spacious Sykorice base camp with empty hands.
